"Ghost town"

Uncle Lim has dubbed my hometown as ghost town at night. True enough. I have raised up there for 20 years and heaven knows that people don't go to town at night. All shops are closed. You can only find night life around 3 and 4 miles. Well, my parents are staying in 3 1/2 miles. Last year when I brought JR back to Sandakan, he seems quite enjoyed it (I think so). Maybe because of my mom's homecook food? Or maybe he likes those orang utans in Sepilok? Or perhaps the crocodile in 7 Mile? True enough, I don't see any potential in this town. There will be a new corridor launching for Sabah soon. I wonder how will it help to boost the economy.

After the wedding

A week of hectic wedding preparation. A week of relief but then fell sick. Another 2 weeks will go back to Borneo for Chinese New Year. But I'm not into the mood of CNY although the shops and malls have put up all sorts of deco and sales. Symptom of mid-age? Time flies and you never have time to think what you've done. BTW, our photographers have shot more than a thousand photos during our wedding. So it's another mind-boggling task to select and sort those photos.

Door gift

It was not easy to decide what kind of door gift to be prepared. At first, they wanted to make a gift box from paper. But it will be lots of hard work - making hundred boxes is disastrous. Then they chosed the towel gift. KY has offered her help. They thought it would be ok until they went "gift shopping" in Petaling Street. What an eye opener for them. So finally they decided the door gift and purchased the materials for it. Within a night, they have completed the door gifts (about hundred pieces). It was not that complicated; just rolled and stuffed inside the cup. Should look nice and cute.

The wedding of HK and SY

On 12 Jan 2008, HK and SY have officially registered for marriage under Malaysian law. It was not the day they have chosen. The planned date was on 18 Jan 2008. As the registrar's license would be expired on 16 Jan 08, so they decided to perform the marriage registration a week earlier, without their parents. Nevertheless, it was a good occasion. Bridal march song was played by the registrar too. More photos on the way.

That Christmas

We had a small Christmas dinner last year. Some friends of ours were there. Plus some good food prepared by KY. No Christmas gift exchange this time. All were eyeing on the roasted lamb. Yum yum...

BBQ Party

New year BBQ at 61 house. But it was 3days before the new year. And so we ate and drank and laughed for tomorrow... (1) Our chef of the night (2) The food is out! (3) Quick, grab it before it's too late. (4) The BBQ expert (5) Yummy!

The beauty of the new year....

Just now saw three spots of fireworks from my house balcony. Think it was from Sunway area and the other one from KL area. First time catching THREE live fireworks display from my house. Received a message from a friend: The beauty of the new year lies not only on the count down but the thought of God giving us another year to see thru life. Have a fruitful and wonderful new year.
