A legacy of pop

It was Friday morning. Tuned on the radio and heard MJ's song. Changed to another station, another MJ's song was played. Something was not right. Then it was announced MJ has left us. Was quite surprised with the news. He left a legacy of pop songs that no other singers can compared with. Although not a big fan, somehow some of his songs did impact us. I remembered Black and White that was extremely popular back in early 90's. He will not be forgotten, at least for his songs. Oh ya, I almost bought his Thriller album when I was 6-7 years old. But ended up with Breakdance OST . Think the cassette is still in my hometown. Hehe....

International dragon boat race in Putrajaya (Part 1 of 2)

What a great day to start with.....HAZE! Look, there's a Burj-Al-Arab lookalike in Putrajaya. Some of the contestants.... opps...over exposed at the top portion and this group is homegrown?

Books

Have been reading less physical books nowadays. More on internet surfing. Here's a notable statement which makes you think twice if you would take up a book next time. Don't just say you have read books. Show that through them you have learned to think better, to be a more discriminating and reflective person. Books are the training weights of the mind. They are very helpful, but it would be a bad mistake to suppose that one has made progress simply by having internalized their contents. Epictetus More books are pending to be read. Again, will I get anything from it? Or am I just passing time only? Inspired by insidework.net

Java

We will be going to eastern Java coming next two weeks, if God permits. While searching for some info, found out there are people out there sharing Lonely Planet guide books for free, in pdf format. So out of guiltiness, downloaded it (shhh.....). Save some bucks. I think government should consider giving tax relief for e-book purchase as well. I've been downloading many e-books nowadays, which is a good sign - environmental friendly - considering I've stopped buying books. That act alone might have saved few trees to be converted into paper (?). Perhaps Kindle will be my next investment?

Hobbyist

Looks like he's waiting for the building to be completed. Meantime, just get satisfy with flowers first. Shot at Putrajaya Precinct 6 during International Dragon Boat Race.

Accidental finding

It was Friday and the friends decided to go to Putrajaya. Prior to this we wondered if there's any "pasar malam" in PJ on Friday night. Surprise - we found "pasar tani" night version in Putrajaya, just in front of government offices. And we were the only Chineses in that market (aside from a tourist couple). True....

AF 477 and lightning

People speculated severe thunderstorm was one of the causes of the accident of Air France Flight 447 which apparently crashed during a scheduled flight from Rio de Janeiro to Paris. This prompted me to understand the nature of thunderstorm or lightning. Well, little do I know that there are few types of lightning. Read here for more. Anyway, looks like this might not be the cause. On one side of thought, it reminded me of one drama series: LOST. Who knows?
