How did it happen?

Event 1: The day before SY delivered Micah, we had bah kut teh as dinner, with TL. And so he said: was it because of too heaty that the baby wanted to come out. Haha...... Event 2: Although initially we planned to follow JiaPu (家谱) when devising Chinese name for Micah, eventually it didn't happen. With countless advises, suggestions and researches, we finally came to conclusion. He shall be named: 曾启益 (Jun Chee Yi). What does it mean? The rise of blessing / benefit. Hopefully I don't interpret it wrongly. :)

Earth hour

They (KLCC and KL Tower) really switched off the lights for 1 hour. There must be a surplus in electricity supply for that 1 hour. If nobody use it, isn't it wasted? KLCC and KL Tower dimmed their lights. Even Mid Valley also. After the "curfew" hour, lights blazing from them as if nothing happen. Note: Photos taken at ISO-400 with exposure time at least 5 seconds.

Baby's first week

He was born healthy. Only a bit dry on the skin. Nurse said he was overdue (wrong estimation of the due date?). He got a bit of "yellow" but doctor said no need to admit for treatment. Does he look "yellow"?

Baby MICAH ... welcome to the world

Micah arrived on 16 March 2009, 11.20am.

Good to Great (3)...Your team

First who - get the right people on the bus (and kick out the wrong people from the bus also). Then build a superior team. Then what? - Once you have the right people on the bus, then plan out the path for greatness. By the way, employee is not the greatest asset for a company but a RIGHT employee is.

Waiting....

Anytime to deliver from now....

Good to Great (2) ... Level 5 management

There are five levels of leadership hierarchy: Level 1: Highly capable individual Level 2: Contributing team member Level 3: Competent manager Level 4: Effective leader Level 5 - just call it Level 5 management Well, not all employees got the chance to achieve all the 5 levels. It is anyhow a guideline for each of us if we happen to be in that stage. At least in level 1, haha ... Lever 5 leadership trait: Ambitious, think first for the institution yet humble and humility.

Good to Great (1)

Good is the enemy of great. So to say. We used to say good school, good teacher, good employee, good this and good that BUT not great school and so on. Why they don't go for great status? Probably people are more comfortable with the "good" status. Once you are in good condition, you don't feel like moving anywhere. Then you stuck there. Other people catching up and moving forward. So as a company. That's why you don't get many great companies. Jim Collins' research concluded only 11 companies made it from good to great. What's the criteria to classify those companies which have made it from good to great? A company simply outperforms the general stock few times and able to sustain it for 10 years and so. It will make even greater achievement if employee make the same quantum change.

Finally it's wedding day

The wedding of HJ and WP....

Business decision

Difficult time is here. At first, the company laid off the direct labors. Then the ratio between the direct labors and the indirect labors is too narrow. So now the company offers voluntary separation schceme for the indirect labors. Their target is to achieve back the balance ratio of 1 to 4. Other companies also doing the same. Seems like the downside is gonna last for few months.
