I must thank my Prof for selecting me to attend a workshop in Tokyo recently. The workshop was held in Tokyo Institute of Technology (TITech) - Ookayama campus. I would say the premise is very convenient. The train station is just across the street from the main gate. Nearby there are rows of shops and eateries. Not to mention McD is situated right opposite the main gate too. The campus is not big. You can cover the entire campus by foot. This makes the navigation easy; unlike our local public university. Some of the buildings are quite artistic (check out the library building). The main administration building is the most photographed building in the campus, I guess, as it's one of the earliest establishments. A decent place to study I would reckon.  This book is an account of a four year old boy who claimed to have gone to heaven and back. Well, the book was written by his father who gathered all the information from him. It happened when the boy had a surgery. During the surgery, he claimed to have flown out from his body and went to heaven. Well, the interesting piece was how he described heaven, Jesus, his great grandfather whom he never met, his other sister whom did not make it to the world (and his parent never told him about this) and other heaven stuff. His parent always him asks how does Jesus look like. Because he can't fully describe the feature of Jesus' face (he was only four, remember), he can only answer if the portrait resembled Jesus. Most of the portraits do not match to what he's seen. Until one day when his father came across a news about another kid had a vision of heaven and able to paint it out. A year ago, the backyard of our condo started to show sign of collapsing. Well, it was not the main building that would be collapsed but the fence and the ground near the river. This was due to soil erosion on the river bank. Things got pretty messy after a few heavy downpours. Some people brought this issue to the press and assemblymen. Soon after, the restoration began. The restoration was completed last December. Today the structure is still intact. Below are the photos of the backyard based on timeline. Today most Christians celebrate Easter Sunday. This is the day where Jesus is risen. One of the local churches chose heaven as the theme of this year Easter Sunday. Well, in John 14:1-7, 1 “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. 2 My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. 4 You know the way to the place where I am going.”   5 Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?”   6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. One of the must-visit places in Tokyo - Tokyo Tower. Initially, I didn't how to get there. Well, took the sub and came out near Daemon area. Surprisingly, the tower is just nearby. Personally, I think this tower is more worthy to visit compared to KL Tower. You won't feel bored after all. The reflection of the tower is seen on one of the nearby condos. Some night view photos as seen from the tower. Note that most of the skyscrapers have red neon light on their rooftop. Any idea what's that for?

More funny costumes during the marathon ... This guy is a JAL employee?

I happened to witness Tokyo Marathon event on the last day in Tokyo. Prior to that, I met three fellow Malaysians who just came to Tokyo to participate the marathon. With such passion and enthusiasm, they've made the necessary preparation for the race. Even with the high entry fees (about RM450 for international participant). The marathon event was quite entertaining. Most of the locals came out to support. Some even cheered up the runners. But the most entertaining part was the costume of the runners. This could be the weirdest marathon I've even seen. Runners donned themselves in all sort of characters (alien, pikachu, angry bird, clown etc). I'm not sure if I can see the same funny costumes in any of our local marathon event.
