A mission to Siem Reap

Last weekend I joined a missionary trip to Siem Reap, Cambodia. It was an initiative by a pastor from SIB. We visited three villages. Each day we took like an hour more road trip to the village. There the team members shared the gospel, and the villagers responded. Most of the villagers were women and children. I guessed the men must have gone out for work. Or perhaps work overseas. After the sharing, we provided medical consultation. We had two doctors on board with us. In the afternoon, some team members had fun time with the children. The children received some goodies too. The trip was overall enlightening. God is still at work. Why did I join such trip? I guess it was a calling. Plus He did answer my prayer by providing an affordable air fare (I asked for less than RM300 round trip, and I did get it). Probably I will come back in future. Jeju Island - museums

In our previous trip to South Korea, we flew to Jeju Island for a few days. We engaged with a local taxi driver as tour guide for day trip. Surprisingly, the driver followed the itinerary as prescribed in a travel book. And the book was authored by a Taiwanese. The first stop was at Trick Eye Museum. Thumbs down. The place was totally built for group tourists, in my opinion. Subsequently, I had to make sure the driver did not bring us to other man made museum, except Teddy Bear Museum. The latter is worth a visit.

Lion dance, again

Yup, another post on lion dance performance. But this time the performance was in Sandakan, Sabah. We went back there for a few days, last week. Over there, there were more lion dance performance as it's part of the local Chinese community culture. In total, no. 2 son had viewed 3 lion dance performances there. A very good experience for him. Lion dance

Have not been to any lion dance performance in Klang Valley since a decade. I used to enjoy it when I was a kid. As I grew older, I didn't bother on the performance. Probably I was bored with it. Anyway, now my no. 2 son has developed an interest in the lion dance performance. So I brought him to the lion dance performance in a nearby mall, twice. He really enjoyed the performance. p/s: All photos were taken with iPhone 4S.

What I think about Star Wars VII

Who would have thought there would be Star Wars Episode VII after the conclusion of two trilogies? Well, anything can happen. And yes episode VII has been released last December. Went to watch it with the kids last month. Not sure if they really understood the story. But I guessed they should have enjoyed the flight scene. Anyway, I have not been writing about movie since end 2014. That's because I haven't been watching any movies. As far as I remember, I had Hotel Transylvania 2 , A Good Dinosaur and Star Wars: The Force Awakens . There are some good movies which I've missed out, like The Martian (anyway, I've just watched it online last night). So three movies for last year and all watched with the kids. Now, is Star Wars: The Force Awakens worth a watch? I would say yes. It's fresh and nostalgic. Unfortunately, the characters' development does not meet my expectation. I was expecting more. But maybe because it's a trilogy, so characters' developm...
