Journey to receive bride (Part 1 of 3)

According to the Chinese customary, the bridegroom will go to the bride's house to receive her. This was the journey...

On the registration day (Not the wedding one...)

Author's note: Raise your flag! OK, so the couple have registered their marriage legally. Here's another event of registration. It was the candidature registration for the general election. Since they stay quite near to the registration center, they went there to have a look (in other words being nosy). The registration was for the constituency of Petaling Jaya Utara. Just two parties showed up for the registration. Obviously the pro-government had larger crowd, more banners and more flags. The opposition was not too bad. Just a bit unorganized. Early morning, the posters were up. Gathering point for the pro-gov supporters Ready for the march. Paparazzi! The candidates. What was the little girl looking at? More crowd, more flags, more banners. The blue wave...

Post event

After marriage and CNY, what's next? Our new house is ready. Will be getting the key later today. We are excited. On the other hand, his company has announced the relocation of the team to Seremban. So he has to commute five days a week with travelling distance of 140km round trip. It's time to change, he said. Well, he indeed has started looking for new opportunity since Nov last year - a lesson learned from "Who Moved My Cheese". Smell the cheese that has been moved! As for the new couple's CNY event, they flew to Kuching and proceeded to Sibu. Take note on Kuching development. Two shopping malls are up and Starbucks too. They had their wedding banquet in Sibu then. Finally they flew to Sandakan for tea ceremony and family reunion dinner. Now they are back in PJ.

New Year greeting

While SY was having a glittering sky full of fireworks on the Chinese New Year eve in Sibu, some of the people around the world sent sms greetings. I personally received quite a number during that night. This has been happening since few years ago. In previous years I would send the greeting but this year kinda lazy. Waiting for the rest to send. Then only reply on the second day. One replied said it was too late; all the prosperity has been taken. Well, better late than none. As this year is the year of rat, so the sms greeting will have at least one rat word (in Mandarin). Then it came like rat, rat, rat......happy new year etc.

The venue makeover

How to transform a bare shop lot hall into a nice feel wedding hall? Ask Martha Stewart and she will give you plenty of suggestion. Anyway, SW has helped out the hall decoration. First, lower the ceiling so that audience will be "forced" to focus at the stage. Then put side deco to lift up the mood. I find the after work quite impressive. Before the decoration. After the makeover.

Door gift revealed
